This is a private tour, so we can be flexible with the itinerary. We will stop at beautiful placesso you can take photos on our way to Hoi An, such the Da Nang Fishing village, My Khe Beach, Dragon bridge or Marble Mountains. Very different than a group tour where there is a strict, rigid itinerary that follows a very tight schedule.
On this tour, you will experience the life and culture of the rural Hoi Anpeople andeat locally grown food served in traditional style food. This tour does not include visiting Hoi An ancient city, allowing you to escape from the noise of the busy tourist areas.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Visit Tra Que Herb Village to join with local family activities like cultivating soil, carrying seaweed to do fertilise the fields before planting, tilling the soil and watering the vegetables.
- Experience riding on water buffalo amongst the rice paddies
- Take lots of photos of rice fields and shrimp and fish farms and of the local people doing their everyday tasks
- Visit Cam Thanh Village where you get a chance to row a bamboo basket boat and explore the Water Coconut Jungle, catching crabs and giving fishing Vietnamese style a try …

DESCRIPTION:
Our professional tour guide and driver pick you up from CHAN MAY Port (INSIDE the port). Please provide us with your Pick up & Drop off Time so we can ensure we meet your cruise ship schedule.
When you get off the ship walk past the guides holding names and walk past the line of buses. Our guide will be located at the port entrance marked by a building. They will be holding a sign with your name to welcome. Hope you can find your sign easily.
After picking you up from the ship, we will take to Da Nang and stop at My Khe Beach ( formerly called China Beach) to take photos of the Lady Buddha Statue and the bamboo basket boats of the local fishermen or walk around to enjoy fresh air from ocean.
Next you will be taken to a quiet herb village on the edge of Hoi An, calledTra Que Vegetable Village. There locals grow a wide range of vegetables for sale and for their own consumption, including Basil, Mint, Lemon Grass, Coriander, Cabbage, Spring Onion, Morning Glory, Lettuce. At this stop you will get a feeling for small farm life, where locals tend their vegetable gardens, and you will meet the local family. Now the fun part, where you help them with some farming activities, like cultivating soil, watering the growing vegetables, and fertilising using seaweed.
After this fun activity, we will take to a local rice paddy field to take a ride on a water buffalo, which does require you to keep your balance, otherwise you might end up in the rice paddy.
We then continue on Cam Thanh village. During Vietnam – America War, the village acted as a shelter for locals and a hiding place for soldiers. On our way there, you will also see rice fields, corn fields, a forest of water palm, and shrimp and crab farms.
We take a break here having tea with a local family, before starting our next adventure, rowing the round bamboo basket boats. With the help of an experienced boat person, you will learn how to row these little boats, while visiting the Water Coconut Jungle. While you are in the channels between the palms you can try and catch crabs and give fishing Vietnamese style a try.
Our next stop is Thanh Ha Pottery Village where you will see the local artisans making pots out of clay and you get a chance to try and make a tea cup or vase using clay.
After all these activities, it is definitely time for a relaxed lunch prepared by a local family using local organically grown ingredients and transformed into authentic Vietnamese local food.
After lunch, you will have one hour to visit the Japanese Bridge, Phung Hung Ancient House and some time for shopping in Hoi An.
We will then begin our drive back to the Port and we will have you back at least one hour or more before your departure.
Children from 6 to 11 are half adult price
