Tommy Dao tours prides itself on making your tours as rewarding as possible and without fuss, so please take the time to read what our previous guests have said about our tours, our service and our value for money:
We were picked up at the cruise port for a full day tour. Stopped at China beach, sure wish I had a surfboard and more time because the waves were pumping! At Marble Mountain, the guides bought the tickets and came along with us to narrate and show us the highlights. They also accompanied us into Hoi An, the old town. The tour was well organized and efficient, with good coordination between guide and driver to facilitate timely pickups. Overall, a very enjoyable trip! I will definitely use them again when I come back to go surfing!
I work on a cruise ship and have been to 77 countries. Today we arrived in Chan May, Vietnam and booked a private tour with Tommy Dao Tours… we even were able to book the day before but I would highly recommend contacting Tommy ahead of time as we were just lucky that he was available.
You will be picked up in a late model vehicle in perfect running order and Tommy is an excellent driver.
The biggest fear of those on a cruise ship is not getting back in time. You would miss the ship I not only would miss the ship I would lose my job…I want to assure you that are on cruise ships and worried about getting back in time. For other posts everyone has said there was never a problem getting back.
This will never be an issue with Tommy, he is extremely professional just tell him what time you want to get back, what time the ship leaves and you will be fine. I had to be back today at 7pm and I told Tommy to get us back by 6pm just to be safe and taking traffic, a flat tire anything that might hinder this taken into account. We arrived at 5:45.
I have taken tours all over the world and this rates right up there with the best of them. Tommy was our driver and Lam was our guide both speaking perfect English.
As it was a private tour we were able to choose where we wanted to go and how much time we wanted to spend at the area. Of course we also listened to the suggestions that Tommy made. Lam gave excellent commentary along the way with filling in the history of the region.
First stop was China Beach in Danang where the US Base was located to take a swim in the South China Sea and a beer.
Then it was off to Hoi An for the day. We started at a great restaurant with very fresh and delicious food that Tommy recommend for appetizers, a shrimp and noodle dish and a fresh fruit drink for less then $10US. Then Lam took us on a walking tour of Hoi An to temples, shops and the waterfront before stopping to a musical review. Nothing was pushed on us, we were not led into stores just a nice leisurely walk through the ancient village. I really appreciated this as I am a photographer and I was given all the time I wanted to capture photographs.
On the way back we also stopped and beautiful bay outside Danang to relax for a bit and yes take more photos.
I cannot recommend Tommy with a higher eval…. please do yourself a favor and get in touch with him if you are coming to Chan May/Danang…
Thank You SO Much Tommy and Lam for the perfect day….

Shore excursion from port chan may to hoi an
From the first enquiry tommy was responsive and attentive to our needs for the day trip we had envisaged. We were a group of 8 arriving to port and wanted a small group tour rather than the ones organised by the ship company. Tommy required a small deposit pre trip, fully refundable if the ship didn’t make it to port. Tommy with signage was there to meet us at port along with the driver Lu and guide ty. Our mini bus had air con and was modern and comfortable in the heat of vietnam. We spent a wonderful day travelling to Hoi an and back, stopping at sights along the way. Lu’s driving was very safe and ty’s narrative very informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and ty, lu and tommy made sure we were back to port in plenty of time for the ship sailing.
Friendly, trusted, well organized … THE BEST!
I booked Tommy Dao Tours for my Big Family group of 35 persons, a tour to Danang and Hoi An City from Cruise Terminal. Since the first time I contact Tommy, he was very friendly and cooperation with what I want. He also can arrange the tour with my budget and give a good price. The ittinerary was well organized and very clear direction of the meeting point. We all satisfied with the tour. I highly recommended Tommy Dao Tours!
